A+ College Ready Announces 10 New Participating High Schools and Middle Schools in the 2023-2024 School Year

A+ College Ready is honored to announce our 10 new Cohort XVI Program Schools! All of these schools have expressed a deep commitment to increasing academic expectations in their schools for ALL students. High schools joining the APTIP ALSDE/A+ College Ready Program for Cohort XVI are:

Francis Marion School, Perry County
Robert C. Hatch High School, Perry County
Wilcox Central High School, Wilcox County
Foley High School, Baldwin County
LeFlore Magnet School, Mobile County
Moody High School, St. Clair County

Middle schools joining the MSTIP ALSDE/A+ College Ready Program for Cohort XVI are:

Bankhead Middle School, Walker County
Hokes Bluff Middle School, Etowah County
Northridge Middle School, Tuscaloosa City
Russellville Middle School, Russellville City

With the help of A+ College Ready, Alabama consistently ranked number one among all 50 states in the percent increase in AP qualifying scores on math, science, and English AP exams from 2008-2017 for all students. Additionally, Alabama saw the largest number of qualifying scores on AP tests by students of color in the state’s history in both 2020 and 2022. Since 2008, Alabama students have saved approximately $270,417,000.00 in college tuition thanks to college credit for qualifying AP exam scores.
