Let’s face it — unfinished learning is real. According to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), students struggling with prerequisite skills often hit a wall with grade-level content. E3 training helps you identify what students need and how to connect those building blocks to new content. You’ll learn to use formative assessments to guide instruction, scaffold learning, and support struggling students in practical and sustainable ways.
Our middle school courses have “5 in 5s” for each unit aligned to the lessons. These five problems, to be completed in five minutes four times a week, incorporate both a spiral review and a focus on prerequisite skills. These quick, five-minute warm-ups are built into each unit, giving students consistent, low-stakes practice that reinforces prerequisite skills and that spirals in key concepts. They’re fast, effective, and easy to implement.
