
Emily joined the A+ team at the beginning of 2025 as the Communications Manager.
She graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2024 with a degree in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Political Science.
Emily has always had a passion for advocacy. She was born with Achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism, and from an early age has advocated for herself and others with disabilities. In 2014 she advocated to implement an ambulatory Paralympic division in Alabama for athletes with disabilities to compete in high school sports at the state level and succeeded. She was a member of the 2016 USA Paralympic Team in Rio where she competed in shot put. During her time in the Paralympics, she witnessed firsthand the importance of the communication field and advocacy experiencing the movement gain awareness at a fast rate since 2016.
Emily uses her passion for advocacy and knowledge of the communication and political science fields at A+. She is a firm believer that every child in Alabama deserves the same level of opportunities for education regardless of circumstance which aligns perfectly with A+’s mission.
