Cristina serves as the Social Studies Content Director for Advanced Placement, where she supports teachers and students across Alabama through curriculum development, professional learning, and programs designed to strengthen success in Advanced Placement Social Studies courses. Since joining the A+ team in January 2025, she has been committed to expanding opportunities for students to experience rigorous coursework and helping educators develop the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to grow in their craft.
Cristina brings more than 20 years of experience in education as a middle and high school social studies teacher, AP U.S. History and AP Human Geography teacher, department leader, and assistant principal. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, holds an Instructional Leadership certificate from Jacksonville State University, and is a National Board Certified Teacher.
A proud Leeds native, Cristina enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter, gardening, and playing pickleball.
