Alabama Computer Science Fall Conference

The A+ College Ready Fall Conference for Advanced Placement teachers is designed to strengthen content knowledge and to expand access to instructional strategies and resources for both novice and experienced AP teachers.  Each conference will feature nationally recognized AP consultants as well as successful Alabama practitioners.  In addition to high quality teaching and learning, participants will have the opportunity to network with AP colleagues from all over the state.
This year’s Computer Science Conference will feature three learning tracks: The new Code.org teachers, trained in the summer of 2018, will continue their learning in one track. There will also be a track designed for second and third year AP Computer Science Principles teachers and a track for teachers beginning, or considering, teaching AP Computer Science A.
The conference will begin on October 5th at 12:00 pm and end at 4:30 pm.  The second day of the conference will begin at 8:30 am and end at 3:00 pm.  Attendance at this workshop is an expectation for teachers who have signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with A+ College Ready for the 2018-19 school year.
There is no fee for teachers from A+ College Ready Program Schools (Cohorts 9, 10, 11 and pipeline). An attendance fee of $250 will be charged for teachers from A+ College Ready Partner Schools (Cohorts 1-8) and non-affiliated schools. The University of Alabama is offering a scholarship to cover the attendance fees for the first 20 teachers from non-program schools (including private schools) that register for this event. If you are a teacher from a non-program school, please select the ticket type “Training Participant (Non-Program School) – University of Alabama Sponsored”. If this ticket type is no longer available when you register, you will need to select “Training Participant” and the regular attendance fees for non-program school teachers will apply.
