The A+ Best Practices Center (ABPC) is excited to partner with the Instructional Leadership Collective to use their new book to guide learning in the 2026-2027 Powerful Learning Network (PLN)! We look forward to collaborating with this world-class organization to bring high-quality, networked professional learning to Alabama educators.

Our Powerful Learning Network supports school and district teams in improving student outcomes by fostering impactful instruction and leadership. We do this by providing research-based best practices, protocol-driven networking, and guided team planning time. Additionally, all participating teams present an implementation plan at the end of the year to show how the learning impacts students. Our most recent external evaluation shows that districts that invest in our networks see measurable improvement in reading and math.

Previewing the Learning in 2026-2027

In 2026-2027, the ABPC’s Powerful Learning Network is using Peter M. DeWitt and Michael Nelson’s newest book Lead Collectively: From Belief to Action to Impact to guide the year of intentional, collaborative learning. This impactful and timely text focuses on leadership at all levels: from the classroom to the central office, making it relevant for every educator. We invite all teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators to join in the learning! Drawing on decades of leadership experience and research, the authors offer actionable tools, protocols, and insights to help educational leaders foster trust, coherence, and accountability.

Additional features include:
  • A step-by-step Collaborative Inquiry Cycle to guide leadership teams from identifying problems of practice to tracking measurable results
  • Guidance on integrating AI tools to analyze data, assess impact, and enhance collaboration
  • Case studies and real-world stories illustrating how schools and districts have transformed their leadership practices through collective efficacy

Relationships are so important in this business. They’re so important in life, and they’ve never been more critical than they are right now. I would advise someone that, if they were looking for a professional networking group, that they would consider the A+ Best Practices Center, because you’re gonna be connected with people from all over the state.
