Shannon serves as Director of Operational Strategy for A+, where she leads cross-departmental initiatives, tracks organizational data to identify trends and opportunities, and helps ensure day-to-day operations remain aligned with A+’s mission to expand access to high-quality education for every Alabama student. She returned to the A+ team in October 2020, bringing renewed energy to supporting the organization’s vital work.
Shannon’s path to this work began with hands-on experience in early childhood education, including roles as a YMCA counselor, an au pair in France, and a Pre-K 4 teaching assistant. Her time at A+ and Voices for Alabama’s Children introduced her to the power of data-driven advocacy to promote transparency and hold policymakers accountable—an approach she now brings to A+’s internal systems and strategy. A product of Alabama’s public schools, Shannon attended LAMP Magnet High School and Auburn University, giving her a personal connection to the outcomes A+ works toward.
Shannon lives in Montgomery with her husband, Michael, and their son, Sean Patrick. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, dancing, and volunteering at The Cloverdale Playhouse.
