Weekly Updates from A+ Education Partnership

The Alabama State Board of Education held its first meeting of 2023 yesterday. This was Dr. Cynthia McCarty's last board meeting. She has been a phenomenal State Board leader and a constant voice for students! She will be greatly missed after eight years of service to our state.

During the meeting, members discussed Alabama Numeracy Act updates, first-grade readiness, and more. Read our top 4 Key takeaways here.

This Week at A+

>A+ College Ready: We're traveling all over Alabama visiting potential Cohort 16 schools to join our program this summer! We will continue our visits throughout January and officially announce the new schools on February 8. On Wednesday, some of our team members visited Robert C. Hatch High School in Perry County and were privileged to see these beautiful murals, commissioned by a professional artist and painted by Robert C. Hatch students. The four murals represent a chronological history of significant events in the area.

>The Alabama Best Practices Center: Hey podcast listeners! The ABPC is excited to launch the Better Practices, Brighter Students Podcast!
