Session 4 (Open): E3 Summer Training for Math & Computer Science

(This training is virtual but was formerly scheduled to be held at the Alabama Math, Science Technology Initiative in Anniston, AL)

A+ College Ready is proud to partner with the Alabama State Department of Education to make high-quality math and computer science training available for Alabama public school teachers.  E3 Summer Training for mathematics and middle school computer science provides educators with content-based, pedagogy-driven, teacher-to-teacher training, designed to Equip teachers with the methods, tools, and resources needed to Empower students to be engaged and motivated learners so that we may Expect More from education in Alabama!

Additionally, AP Computer Science Principles training will be offered to provide NEW AP computer science teachers with the fundamental content knowledge and resources needed to facilitate an engaging computer science experience accessible for a large number of Alabama students. The curricula and strategies covered in this four-day training have been designed to increase rigor in the classroom for all students. Attendance at this training will meet a program/pipeline school teacher’s requirement for Year 1 training and make him/her eligible for a 2020-21 Letter of Agreement (LOA). In addition, attendance at the ENTIRE middle school computer science training or the AP Computer Science Principles training will allow the trained teacher to earn a course-specific permit that meets Alabama certification requirements for computer science courses.   Teachers who attend this training event will receive:

– Specialized training designed by expert educators for teachers of any level.
– Full access to rigorous classroom-ready lessons.
– Vertical alignment across grade levels.
– Ongoing support from expert educators.

These courses are sponsored by the Alabama State Department of Education.
