2019 Computer Science Fall Workshop
September 20 @ 9:00 am - September 21 @ 3:30 pm
A+ College Ready’s Fall Workshop for teachers in grades 6 – 10 (11 for pre-calculus) is designed as follow-up training for teachers implementing the course specific curriculum presented at the A+ College Ready E3 four-day summer training event. The workshop is designed to deepen teachers’ content knowledge, to expand on pedagogical skills associated with the lessons, and to strengthen implementation strategies such as differentiation, assessment, technology infusion, etc. The computer science fall workshop is designed for teachers who attended summer training for middle school computer science (CS Discoveries) in the summer of 2019.
Attendance at this workshop is an expectation for teachers who have signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with A+ College Ready for the 2019-20 school year. This training is not a substitution for teachers who have not attended course specific training. Program school teachers’ eligibility for the $100 stipend for completing a reflection for the fall workshop is dependent on FULL DAY ATTENDANCE during both training days.
The workshop will extend from 9:00-3:30 and lunch will be provided on both days. This is a ticketed event so please bring your registration ticket with you.
Registration is free for teachers from A+ College Ready Program Schools (Cohorts 9, 10, 11, 12 and pipeline). Registration for teachers in A+ College Ready Partner Schools (Cohorts 1-8) and non-affiliated schools is $150. A purchase order or the name of your authorizing administrator will be requested as part of your registration, and the district will be invoiced following the event.
