A+ College Ready is thrilled to welcome Adrienna Deloris Thomas as our new non-AP Social Studies Content Director! Adrienna brings a fresh perspective, deep expertise, and a passion for student success that aligns perfectly with our mission.
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Adrienna now calls Dothan home. Her journey in education began at the University of Montevallo, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science in Social Science (2004) and a Master of Education in Social Science (2006). Her commitment to educational leadership didn’t stop there—she later earned a Master of Science in Instructional Leadership from Jacksonville State University in 2015, reinforcing her dedication to lifelong learning and impactful leadership.
With more than 16 years of experience in education, Adrienna has worn many hats—each one with excellence. She has served as an Educator, Instructional Coach, Program Specialist, and most recently, Assistant Principal at Dothan Preparatory Academy. Her leadership has been defined by focusing on academic growth, strategic operations, and fostering student development. Among her many accomplishments, she’s led school-wide standardized testing efforts with a consistent 95% completion rate and provided crucial guidance in curriculum development for the Social Studies Department.
Adrienna’s connection to A+ College Ready runs deep. Since 2019, she has been a Social Studies Trainer and Curriculum Developer, designing standards-based lessons, mentoring new trainers, and leading engaging professional development sessions for educators across Alabama. Her instructional leadership style is rooted in collaboration, data-driven strategies, and a belief that education can transform lives.
“I believe social studies is more than dates and events—it’s a powerful lens through which we understand ourselves, our communities, and the world. My purpose is to help educators rediscover the relevance and excitement of history, bringing both passion and intentionality to this work.”
Beyond the classroom and conference room, Adrienna is a passionate advocate for curriculum design and student equity. She shares her life with her husband and their three children, and brings the same care and dedication to her family as she does to the educators and students she supports.
