A+ College Ready Completes 2024 Summer Leadership Institute

Thank you to all who participated in the 2024 Leadership Institute!

On June 10th and 11th, 2024, A+ College Ready held its Summer Leadership Institute at the Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. This event hopes to help administrators and educators further develop their leadership skills and cultivate a reliable learning environment. They utilized Marzano research and curriculum help from the A+ College Ready staff.

To kick off the two-day event, they announced the winners of several awards. The Mary D. Boehm School of Achievement Award was given to Hewitt Trussville Middle School, and the School of Distinction Award was given to Denton Magnet School of Technology. Additionally, six middle schools were recognized as Schools of Excellence. To complete the awards ceremony, Jeff Cole, principal of Winston County High School, received The Power of One Award for his outstanding work applying the A+ College Ready program.

To continue day one, the administrators divided into groups and attended curriculum sessions and educational training. Excellent speakers led these interactive sessions: Dr. Mario Acosta, Kristin Poage, Alex Chavarry, Brian Barnes, and the amazing A+ College Ready staff. Participants used Marzano research and professional advice from these speakers in hopes of enhancing their abilities to lead their schools and raise academic expectations for all students.

To begin day two, A+ College Ready hosted a breakfast to recognize and celebrate the A+ Coordinators. They had an incredible breakfast while listening to each other’s testimonies and advice on implementing the A+ College Ready program better. They were also provided training and resources to help them better their time as A+ Coordinators. Lastly, and most excitingly, they received a swag bag full of goodies to show how appreciative everyone is for them! Then, the participants returned to informative sessions like on day one.

The 2024 Summer Leadership Institute was such a success! Thank you to everyone who participated. We hope these two days were helpful to you and that they provided you with the knowledge to better your schools for the good of every student!
