Stellar Alabama AP Social Studies Teacher Tapped to join A+ College Ready Team

A+ College Ready is pleased to announce that Rhonda Rush will be joining the A+ College Ready team as the Advanced Placement Social Studies Content Director. Rhonda is a National Board Certified Teacher with 38 years experience currently serving as the AP U. S. History and AP Government and Politics teacher at Homewood High School.

“We feel honored to have someone with Rhonda’s credentials and experience join our team. We believe that she not only has the expertise needed for the job but she also shares our core values with the goal of providing access to rigorous coursework and the support to succeed for ALL Alabama students”, says Tammy Dunn, Vice President of Academic Affairs for A+ College Ready.

Rhonda’s exemplary success in the AP Social Studies classroom is well documented. In addition, she has a history of serving in teacher leadership roles including mentoring and coaching. Rhonda is no stranger to A+ College Ready as she has served as a leader and presenter for the organization since social studies was added to the menu of supported disciplines in 2015.

Because her students are her primary concern, Rhonda will finish out the fall semester with her students at Homewood High School while serving as a consultant in the AP social studies content director role. She will join the A+ College Ready in a full-time capacity on January 2, 2019.

“I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to join the A+ College Ready team. The opportunity to work with dedicated Advanced Placement teachers around the state is a dream come true for me. It is my sincere belief that all of you who teach Advanced Placement students each day are transforming education in Alabama one student at a time. I am eager to get started on the task of supporting you in your efforts.”

Rhonda, we welcome you to the A+ Education Partnership family!
