In the past six weeks, ABPC has hosted six live Key Leaders Network sessions and 11 live sessions for the Powerful Conversations Network, attended online by over 600 educators in nearly 40 districts. Thanks to candid participant feedback, we quickly learned how we could better engage our members, create more dynamic breakout sessions, and improve our networking as a whole. Program Coordinator Dakota Punzel describes the birth and ongoing evolution of Concise Conversations, our new weekly 15-minute livestream program on Facebook hosted by Cathy Gassenheimer and Jackie Walsh. Dakota, whose tech skills earned him the job of “show director,” presents our first eight CC sessions along with some lessons learned (for those of you who might want to try this in your school or district).

As the collection grows, we want to be sure it’s easy to find the articles most valuable to you. In a special video message to Alabama educators, Ron Berger, Chief Academic Officer at EL Education, offers support for the challenging work of virtual teaching, including free EL Education resources. Ron was the keynote speaker at the ABPC’s 20th Anniversary Celebration in 2019 at Camp McDowell. He’s the author of Leaders of Their Own Learning, the guiding text in ABPC’s Powerful Conversations Networks for two years.
