A+ Education Foundation Leadership: Vikki Miller

Prior to joining the Alabama Best Practices Center, Vikki Miller directed the Teacher Quality Project at the Alabama State Department of Education from 2001 – 2004.  The project focused on developing a teacher mentoring program, strengthening the teacher evaluation system, and professional development. The project was instrumental in the Alabama Board of Education's adoption of state standards for professional development and mentoring programs.

From 1985 – 2000, she worked at Auburn University where she received her doctorate in Curriculum and Teaching and directed the East Alabama Regional Inservice Center with responsibility for planning and coordinating professional development for teachers and administrators in fifteen school districts. She also served as the Associate Director of the Center for Economic Education at Auburn University and supervised interns.

Dr. Miller was a classroom teacher of government and economics in Mobile, Alabama and worked in the Mobile County Public Schools as a resource teacher in curriculum development.
