Key Media Resources
- Alabama’s Accountability Rewards program also honors Recognition Schools. These are schools that made the
learning gains needed to earn financial rewards, but schools did not meet the poverty threshold. (In some
categories, schools must have at least 80 percent of students qualifying for free or reduced-price meals in
order to get financial rewards.)
- Gov. Bob Riley and the State Board of Education have announced more than $5 million worth of financial rewards to schools. Rewards are designed to honor and motivate educators in Alabama's most challenging schools. Every dollar represents a significant gain in student learning.
- Recent Press Releases
- Financial rewards spreadsheets with separate sheets showing which schools received the most money, which school systems received the most money, and listing all the winners in the various categories.
